Darren Halliday
CEO
Darren Halliday has been living and working in Japan for over 20 yrs. Most of that time has been working in education and publishing. Prior to founding HALICO, he held the position of Representative Director at the Japanese subsidiary of Macmillan Education, part of the SpringerNature group. During his years in the education industry, Darren has witnessed a significant shift away from the traditional classroom. Darren has a passion for new and creative learning solutions and is committed to helping modern-day learners and teachers achieve their goals. When he is not working, he loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors.
Andrew Boon
Academic Advisor
Dr. Andrew Boon is a professor in the faculty of Global  Communications at Toyo Gakuen University, Tokyo. He has been teaching in  Japan for over 20 years. He holds a Ph.D.  in Applied Linguistics from  Aston University. He has presented at numerous domestic and international conferences and has published articles on teacher development, motivation, and methodology. He is also author and co-author of textbooks and graded readers for English language learners.
Haruo Ono
Business Consultant
Haruo Ono has 35 years experience working for foreign-affiliated companies,  and has served 25 of them in a senior management position for 3  companies and managed their Japanese subsidiaries. Haruo recently held  the positions of Executive Director of the Academic Association for  Copyright Clearance in April 2015 and then, in June 2016, moved back to  the UK-headquartered media and information-service industry and  appointed as Sales Director-ASPAC/AUS at Pharma Intelligence | Informa.
